Lifehouse MinistryThe Lifehouse ministry seeks to provide loving, Christ-centered homes for unwanted or abandoned children in order that they may be raised in the admonition of the Lord and become productive citizens and faithful members in the local church. Unlike many children homes and orphanages, which have the feel of an institution, the Lifehouse ministry takes a family-oriented approach. By maintaining Dominican house parents and limiting the number of the children to no more than 12 children per home, the Lifehouse ministry can better focus on the spiritual, physical, and emotional needs of each child. Currently, there is one boys home already started in San Pedro with plans being developed for the opening of a girls home. The DR Vision anticipates a total of 12 homes being built on the ministry property, with a capacity for 144 children. These children will attend the local church (IBEM), the Palms Christian School and have an opportunity to play in the ministry’s baseball and softball leagues. |
